Key Responsibilities

– Prepare ingredients including chopping, portioning, and storing food items

– Cook meals according to recipes, quality standards, and presentation guidelines

– Prepare both hot and cold food items

– Operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, grills, fryers, and microwaves

– Monitor food quality and ensure proper cooking standards are maintained

– Maintain cleanliness of kitchen areas, tools, and equipment

– Ensure correct temperature control for food and appliances

– Set up and break down workstations efficiently

– Follow all health, safety, and hygiene regulations

– Report any maintenance issues, hazards, or incidents to management

– Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to meet service standards


Requirements & Skills

  • Grade 12 or equivalent qualification
  • Minimum 1 year experience in a similar cooking role
  • Good understanding of food preparation and kitchen operations
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail and quality
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Physically fit and able to stand for extended periods
