1. Associate Professor in English
Closing Date: 31 May 2026
Job Purpose
Teach English modules, conduct research, supervise postgraduate students, engage with communities and provide academic leadership within the School.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach undergraduate and postgraduate English modules.
- Develop academic programmes.
- Produce accredited research outputs.
- Supervise Master’s and Doctoral students.
- Lead community engagement initiatives.
- Provide academic leadership and administrative support.
Minimum Requirements
- Doctoral Degree in English.
- Minimum 10 years’ university lecturing experience.
- At least 3 years in an academic leadership position.
- Strong research and postgraduate supervision record.
2. Professor / Associate Professor in Hospitality Management
Closing Date: 31 May 2026
Job Purpose
Provide teaching, research, engagement and academic leadership within Hospitality Management.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach undergraduate and postgraduate students.
- Lead research within the School.
- Supervise postgraduate students.
- Build community and industry partnerships.
- Provide strategic academic leadership.
Minimum Requirements
Associate Professor
- PhD in Hospitality Management.
- 10 years’ university teaching experience.
- At least 3 years in leadership.
Professor
- PhD in Hospitality Management.
- 15 years’ university teaching experience.
- At least 5 years in leadership.
3. Associate Professor in Law
Closing Date: 31 May 2026
Job Purpose
Provide teaching, research, postgraduate supervision, leadership and community engagement within the Law discipline.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach Law modules.
- Develop curricula.
- Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate students.
- Publish accredited research.
- Manage research projects.
- Engage with industry and professional stakeholders.
- Provide leadership within the School.
Minimum Requirements
- Doctoral Degree in Law.
- Admitted Attorney or Advocate.
- Minimum 10 years’ university lecturing experience.
- At least 3 years in an academic leadership role.
4. Professor / Associate Professor in Tourism Management

Job Purpose
Lead teaching, research and engagement activities in Tourism Management.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver undergraduate and postgraduate teaching.
- Produce quality research outputs.
- Supervise postgraduate students.
- Lead engagement initiatives.
- Provide academic leadership.
Minimum Requirements
Associate Professor
- PhD in Tourism Management.
- 10 years’ university teaching experience.
- Minimum 3 years in leadership.
Professor
- PhD in Tourism Management.
- 15 years’ university teaching experience.
- Minimum 5 years in leadership.
5. Admissions Officer
Closing Date: 02 July 2026
Job Purpose
Provide admissions, registration and academic administration services while assisting prospective and current students throughout the application and registration process.
Key Responsibilities
- Process admissions and registrations.
- Support academic administration.
- Liaise with students and stakeholders.
- Supervise admission processes.
- Prepare reports and maintain records.
Minimum Requirements
- Matric plus Diploma or Degree.
- Minimum 5 years’ higher education administration experience.
- At least 3 years in admissions and registration.
- Knowledge of ITS, HEDA and JASPER systems.
6. Administrative Assistant
Closing Date: 02 July 2026
Job Purpose
Provide administrative and operational support to the School of Development Studies.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate academic administration.
- Support meetings and governance.
- Maintain records and documentation.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders.
- Assist academic staff with operational duties.
Minimum Requirements
- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Administration, Public Administration, Business Administration or related field.
- Minimum 4 years’ relevant experience.
- Experience in higher education will be an advantage.
7. HR Officer
Closing Date: 02 July 2026
Job Purpose
Provide Human Resource services, advice and support to employees and management at the Siyabuswa Campus.
Key Responsibilities
- Recruitment and selection.
- Employee onboarding.
- HR advisory services.
- Employee relations.
- Performance management.
- Benefits and leave administration.
Minimum Requirements
- Degree or 3-year Diploma in Human Resource Management or Industrial Psychology.
- Minimum 5 years’ HR experience.
- Sound knowledge of labour legislation and HR systems.
8. Legal Advisor
Closing Date: 02 July 2026
Job Purpose
Provide legal advice and support on contracts, litigation, disciplinary matters and institutional compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft and review legal contracts.
- Provide legal advice.
- Manage litigation matters.
- Coordinate disciplinary proceedings.
- Ensure legal compliance across the University.
Minimum Requirements
- LLB Degree.
- Minimum 5 years’ legal experience.
- Higher education legal experience will be an advantage.
- Postgraduate qualification in Contract Law or Contract Management will be an added advantage.
