Chris Hani District Municipality is Recruiting 300 Security Guards
Chris Hani District Municipality is inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates residing within the municipality’s area of jurisdiction to apply for 300 Security Guard positions under the Expanded Public Works Programme (EPWP).
The programme offers a six-month contract with a monthly stipend of R5,895.

Position Details
Position: Security Guard (x300 Posts)
Employer: Chris Hani District Municipality

Monthly Stipend: R5,895 per month
Job Overview
The municipality is looking for qualified security personnel to safeguard municipal buildings, water infrastructure, revenue collection centres, reservoirs, pump stations, sewerage facilities, dams, and other municipal assets.
Successful candidates will help maintain safety, control access to municipal facilities, protect employees and visitors, and ensure municipal property remains secure.
Key Responsibilities
Successful applicants will be responsible for:
-Protecting municipal buildings, equipment, infrastructure and assets.
-Guarding pump stations, reservoirs, dams, sewerage facilities and other municipal sites.
-Recording incoming and outgoing equipment in inventory registers.
-Updating occurrence books and incident registers.
-Controlling access and exit of employees, visitors and contractors.
-Searching vehicles entering and leaving municipal premises.
-Assisting members of the public and directing visitors.
-Monitoring potential security threats and reporting incidents.
-Protecting councillors, employees and official delegations where required.
-Enforcing municipal security protocols and procedures.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must have:
- Grade 9 qualification.
- Grade D Security Guard Qualification recognised by PSIRA.
- Valid PSIRA Certificate.
- Police Clearance Certificate.
- Proof of medical fitness from a registered medical practitioner.
- Proof of residence from the Ward Councillor.
- At least 12โ18 months relevant Security, Police or Military experience.

- Certified copies of qualifications.
- Certified copy of South African ID.
- Proof of residence from a Ward Councillor or Traditional Leader.
- Valid PSIRA Certificate.

- Proof of medical fitness.
