Minimum Requirements
Applicants must have:
-Grade 12 (Senior Certificate) recognised by SAQA.
-An NQF Level 5 qualification recognised by SAQA and/or DHA Qualification: Home Affairs Services (NQF Level 5) will be an added advantage.
-Understanding of Department of Home Affairs legislation and prescripts.
-Basic knowledge of the Public Service Regulatory Framework.
-Knowledge of Batho Pele Principles.
-Understanding of Standard Operating Procedures relating to birth and death registration.
-Valid driver’s licence.
-Computer literacy.
-Good communication, planning and organisational skills.
-Analytical and problem-solving ability.
-Client service orientation.
-High level of honesty, integrity, professionalism and accountability.
Key Responsibilities
Successful candidates will be responsible for:
- Registering births and issuing birth certificates.
- Receiving notices of birth together with supporting documentation.
- Capturing applications on the National Population Register.
- Performing identity verification and fingerprint verification where required.
- Processing death registrations.
- Maintaining birth and death registers and related records.
- Ensuring compliance with legislation, policies and departmental procedures.
- Providing professional client services at hospitals and health facilities.
- Assisting with administrative, financial and records management duties.
- Supporting effective governance, risk management and service delivery.
