Overview
Bargain Books, one of South Africa’s leading bookstore chains, is recruiting 5 Booksellers to join its growing retail team across multiple locations. If you have a passion for books, enjoy working with people, and are looking for an exciting retail opportunity, this role offers valuable experience in customer service, merchandising, and sales.
Key Responsibilities
– Welcome customers and provide friendly, professional service.
– Assist customers in finding books and recommending suitable titles.
– Receive, unpack, organise, and merchandise stock.
– Create attractive in-store and window displays.
– Maintain store cleanliness and housekeeping standards.
– Support stock control and minimise stock losses.
– Process sales and assist with cashier duties.
– Source and order books requested by customers.
– Promote special offers, upsell products, and build customer relationships.
– Assist with general store administration and daily operations.
Entry Requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric).
- Previous retail or sales experience will be an advantage.
- Marketing, English Literature, Communications, Journalism, or related qualifications are beneficial.
- Good computer literacy.
- Physically fit and able to handle stock.
- Willingness to work retail hours, including alternate weekends.
